Thanks for the cool write up.

Regarding the guide pins & boot kit, 2 of the guide pins get the orange grommets and two don't.

Do the pins with the orange grommets go toward the front or towards the top?

Yes. Just need the SS rotors and the caliper brackets. Just need proper year brackets. 02-05 have aluminum calipers and 06-08 cast iron. Brackets from EXT or V8 from respective years will work with your calipers. Same pads too. SS rotors are better due to more vanes and mass but regular V8/EXT rotors will also work.

Agreed. The bigger the wheel, the more power it takes to turn them.

Reporting live from the future! This still works in 2020. Reference EXT/SS parts from the same year with 17in wheels and your good to go!

thanks again to the original users that put this guide together. The shop I went to didn’t think it was possible and the additional cost of the parts are very low for the benefits gained.

Just a FYI as I went through this last month Unless something has changed, the SS calipers only work with the SS brackets. There is a bevel on one edge to compensate for the extra meat of the caliper.

EXT caliper above, SS below. Not sure what bolts they used for these EXT calipers but they went back regardless.

I purchased the brackets awhile ago, then the calipers, finally realized the brackets were incorrect.

I just checked at RA and part numbers for SS are the same for all the other GMT360 2006-2009. Same for pads. Maybe it's a Cardone screw up?
