4 pushpins along the bottom? What pushpins? I don't have any on mine, just holes.

Then someone may have forgotten to put them in.

I can tell you all of the things that mine ISN'T being held on with. I need a body alignment before I put it all 100% back together.

 Nice wrightup.

I am missing the bolt in the center, and I am starting to get some sag on the top. Think I am going to put a piece of aluminum under the top to prevent this. Or go back to the body shop that replaced it and let them do the dirty work.

Mines the same way, the only thing holding on my bumper is the boxes and the small brackets.

I would skip that step then. They are just extra pins that hold the bumper cover on.

Possibly a related question to this thread, possibly not.

I have sort of a wrinkle in my bumper cover, makes it pop up toward the middle on top.

Is this possibly being caused by missing a pushpin or a bolt or something? Is it something I can DIY to fix?

Thanks in advance.

GM knows it was a design flaw, and the best they could do even for owners in warranty, was add double-sticky Velcro tape underneath to try to hold it flat. There was mocking to be heard at the old site when people discussed whether this sort of MacGyver fix would hold up in the cold and hot temperature extremes.

Nice write up. I've needed this done for years. Filling cracks and smoothing over with Bondo doesn't work long term and looks crappy short term. I've resisted because of the $500 price. Now a painted bumper cover is under $250 on ebay. Some advertise under $100 for a primed cover! Might just do this.

Why do you remove the headlights? I never did that and took my bumper cover off literally dozens of times....

Probably easiest is to go to a pick-a-part and either pull a complete bumper of the same colour or break/cut that bracket (or box) off.
