questions that might come up:
is the pump available at any auto parts store, or on line
how hard or easy was it to break the plugs loose?

The fluid pump I used was from Advance Auto, I'm lucky enough to one 2 minutes from me but similar pumps can be found from Auto Zone and various sites online such as: eBay, amazon, etc.

Here's a link to the one I used:
Advance Auto - Performance Tools Fluid Pump - Part No. W1139

This is the 2nd time I have changed the Transfer Case fluid so the plugs were not hard to loosen. I was also using a ratchet which gave me more leverage.

Just did this on my new-to-me Saab 9-7x (141k miles) and the drain plug came out with only an allen wrench (10mm worked for me BTW). The fill plug however took a lot more. I had to chop off about an inch of the allen wrench and put it in a 10mm socket and used the 2 together with a breaker bar. I was almost hanging on the thing when it popped free. I'd guess it was well over 50ft pounds to get it free. Everything went back together just fine though.

Don't remember what his pictures were exactly but here's what I can see from laying on the ground next to my Saab. Rusty 10mm allen(hex) plug in center of the picture is the check/fill plug and the one toward the bottom just left of center of the picture is the drain plug. Hope that's what you're looking for.

I had a seized fill plug. Heating it, impact wrench. breaker bar - nothing would turn it. I filled it through the speed sensor on the top - plastic threads easily unscrewed.
