How big can you go?

265/60/17 are actually smaller, so fitment should not be a problem. I have 275/70/17 which are 8.8% bigger.

Smaller than what? The 265/60-17 are like an 1" wider and maybe 1/2" taller than the stock 17s.

Compared to your stock size. A basic tire size caluclator is available at 1010tires.com.

245/65R17:
Section width: 245mm
Sidewall height: 159.25mm (245*65%=)

265/60R17:
Section width: 265mm
Sidewall height: 159.00mm (265*60%=)

Wider tread, smaller diameter.

You can do a 265/65R17 with no issues.

Aggressive tires might rub the ball joint (nothing a grinder won't fix). I think in most cases your right though. I had 265/65/17s before the lift, spacers and265/70/17s

If you want the 265/65s you may want to have 1 test fitted on the front first.

I go here: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com

and comparing 245/65-17 against 265/60-17 i get the same height tire at 29.5"

They are close in size and will work, if you can find a tire in that size. There are very few listed. In the OP you asked how big can you go.

There is a fitment chart on the other site . Cant seem to find it here . Not sure if anyone pulled it over here. .Very in-depth .

All season since i dont tow anything or go off roading. I was looking at the Nexen Roadian tires in the 265/60-17 size. Onlinetires has them for $117 each. That size would give me the same height but a little bit wider.

I just test fitted 265/70/17 with mcmarks spacers. they rubed front and back. about 31.5" tall.

That's what I finally decided on, I kicked tires around for months, I just recently bought Michelin LTX MS2 in 255/65/17, 30.1 OD, having them installed the 10th.
