At first blush… THIS Dude might not come across as being “Mr. Brilliance" but he managed to create a VERY Clever “In-The-Garage” GM-GMC Silverado-Sierra Truck Bed Hoisting Contraption that might just work with our familiar Two Ton Hydraulic Cherry Pickers for Raising & Lowering GM-GMC Pick-Up Trucks Beds.

In this case, he created his own ‘Rube Goldberg Wood Rafter Pulley Rigging’ inside his Overhead Garage areas while using an Odd Block & Tackle arrangement designed to uniformly distribute "The Force" being used to lift and lower his 1999 Silverado 1500 Truck Bed using a Sturdy, Wrought Iron Deer Skinning Jig.

He animated this Clever Contraption using a 12 Volt DC Battery Powered Electric Hoist and some very odd hardware that WILL make you LOL with True Admiration for just how well this ingenious Franken-Hoister’ works:

So if likewise, you are having problems with your Full Size GM or GMC Pick Up Truck suffering from Poor or No Start issues due to having Sketchy Truck Bed Grounds to the Fuel Pump and any need to perform a Painless Pick Up Truck OEM Fuel Pump R&R… THIS Video is worth Downloading & Saving in your “Mechanic’s Multimedia Library”:

In this second 'Keeper' Video, Dr. Shock gives us an excellent rundown of Full Size Trucks Electrical Ground Locations from 1995 through to 2002 and uses his GM OEM “Paper” Shop Manual to explain the Zoning Schematics and Diagram Nomenclature to help interpret the Wiring Diagrams with a focus on Ground and Bonding Strap Locations:

So Now HERE is Very Cool Thing...

I poked around over on Amazon looking for a Gambrel Rig like the one this Dude used in his 'Successful Garage Hoisting Experiment' and found that this inexpensive Rack, Rope & Pulley Rig comes complete with a 4:1 Ratio of Mechanical Advantage via Steel Block & Tackle Hardware, PLUS 40 Feet of Nylon Line, and all for only $25.00:

So I grabbed ONE...

...and then after Thinking about it a little bit, I realized that instead of running that Rig from Nose to Tail along the Center Line of the Truck Bed like the OP did, that perhaps using TWO of these Units positioned SIDEWAYS instead would make even more sense. It certainly would make leveling the fore and aft position placements of the Truck Bed a whole lot easier to adjust for its Weight and Balance:

So I grabbed TWO...

Plus, doing the Job this way would not only Raise the Weight Limitations from only 600 Pounds to 1,200 Pounds, it would also allow for Splitting the Entire Load in between TWO Long Attic Rafters-Beams for support, instead of Centering all of that Concentrated Weight and Stress on only ONE Beam.

And look at the Kit Price... $25.00 Per Set? Is that RIGHT?

Think about it Guys... We may NEVER have to perform THIS Job in our entire lifetimes... But should We EVER need to 'Consult Archimedes' on very short notice for his HELP when trying to lift or move Some Very Damned, Dangerous, Inconvenient, Heavy, Clumsy or Cumbersome or "STUCK" Things out of our ways in an Emergency that cannot be moved under our own Physical Power (At least... NOT without the added assistance of using "A System of Pulleys") then having these sorts of Tools around might come in very handy. :>)

About ten times as expensive and complex as it needs to be, at least if you already own the shop hoist.

One 2X4 cut to length to accept the side-load, one chain BOLTED AROUND THE HOOK so the hook can't slide down the chain. A couple of fasteners to attach chain to box. One properly-adequate shop hoist; i.e., not a half-size Chinese piece of crap rated for "2 tons" only because the lever arm has been shortened to near-uselessness.
