It bears noting that the very First 90 Degree V8 (8) Cylinder Engine was created by the Folks over at the Ford Motor Company (with GM Chevrolet nipping at their heels) and shown to the Buying Public back in 1932. This Video covers the lead up to its design and shows the Techs and Machinists fine tuning these Engines by actually performing what we would describe today as "Engine Blue Printing".

These early Flathead V8 Motors and their internals endured close tolerance Dial Indication and Precise Hand Inspections to survive component weight reduction and internal parts balancing. The Video shows the stark differences of just how Labor Intensive building the Original V8 Motors were when compared to the much later designs we have come to know and appreciate... often "Hardly Touched by Human Hands".
