I was going to put this in "What came in your mail today" thread, but figured a search would turn this up for anyone in the hunt.
I haven't installed it yet, but my Pure Power alternator from Tuscon Alternator & Starter arrived today.
All new parts, including the case. I've had my eye on this for awhile now and also considered the Mechman but for the 4.2L, Mechman uses a smaller pulley on the 4.2L and limits RPM to 5K. This particular alternator uses the stock size pulley.
I had a good conversation with Tuscon A & S and this unit will provide 250A and 190A at idle.
Reason for the upgrade now is on occasion at higher RPM I can see the alternator is not shutting down, but I'm getting an occasional flicker or dimming, the 2-wire connector is good. Given the age of this alternator I'm going to upgrade now.
Also I might add some stereo goodies down the road, but also use a receiver-mount winch on occasion. For the price of a new unit at a local parts store, this wasn't far off and they are completely hand-built. Bearing feel is excellent when rotating pulley.
This requires a wire upgrade and is avail from the manufacturer.
I already have a big wire upgrade, will likely add a fuse to this install.
(Description shows 2004-2005 but is also for 2002-2005.)

Will update when installed.
