help me identify this piece!!!

so on saturday i took a crack at the front end suspension on the tb...let me say...never again (Specially on a 2002 rusted bolts suv lol). i did get the upper and lower control arm with the new sway link installed. however, as i was tightening the two bolts on the lower control arm bracket i found something sitting where the big red oval is in the picture

dont mind the big oil leak im addressing that on another post. :smile:

any idea where that piece is from? and actually, COULD it be causing a oil issue?

That is a donut gasket that seals the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold on the engine. You'd know if you were missing it!

The big circle is an exhaust flange gasket i believe. Not from our truck though, ours use flat gaskets

hahaha love it! u guys are just plain awesome...so if it were missing id know huh? what noise would it be making? the mechanic said it would of been they dropped the old one when they were changing it (noticed how full of oil it is, this is address in my other post that has me really concerned).

A LOUD exhaust leak! Almost like no exhaust system. :crazy::biggrin:

so some say it is from our car, some say it isnt...i hear no LOUD exhaust leak/sound so im not worried.

I haven't been that deep in our Rainier so I have no idea what's in it. I just recognize it from a lot of exhaust jobs way back when. :biggrin:

fair enough, it might be an i6 mani to cat gasket... you'd know if it was missing though lol. your neighbors would know too

Manifold to cat pipe gasket. I almost forgot to put mine in. It will leak eventually. If tight enough it might seal for a little while without it.
