Signed up here a few days ago, but haven't posted anything yet.
I bought my 2003 Envoy XL last month after a telephone pole fell on my 1996 Honda Odyssey and totalled it. No one was in it when it came down, and the only reason the pole fell was just dryrot. Wasn't a windy day and nothing struck it. True story!

Oh well, just stepping in to say Hi!

When the Electric Company showed up a short while later, they said that they were surprised that my car wasn't on fire. The wires were hot, but none of them grounded-out and started to arc.

Yes, they actually gave me $1,000 more than the KBB value.
I know I got a nice truck out of the deal, but it was still sad to see the minivan go. It treated me very well over the years and ran like new.

Oh well, out with the old...

Haha, yes, I received notice from a...well...I'll call it a "premonition" of what was going on there. Since I recently joined, I honestly had no clue of what was happening. Anyhow, this site looks to have a much better heartbeat, so I'm now here to stay. :smile:

Autoforums have ruined too many sites. Their rules, advertisements, and sponsorship prices are absolutely ridiculous!!

Yep, I know the area well. I was a cop in the 15th District (covering mayfair) from 2001 to 2011.
Retired now, and I don't miss that area one bit! :smile:
