Thinking of complete assembly change outs rather than another lens restoration attempt, which is producing diminishing results after several trys. Rock Auto has TYC replacements for $43 and some others that are labled "composites" that look slightly different in the pics (also $43). Any suggestions on how to proceed and pitfalls to avoid. Thanks.

You could get a used pair on ebay, bake them open, remove the amber lense and paint the chrome, for a truly unique look.

If you want to go new, i have had good luck with the aftermarket replacements on ebay. They run @ $90. There are also sets of better quality assemblies for$200 a set. You could also go oem and find a good used set. I would get the aftermarket and modify them to your liking, then sell the stockers for a couple bucks and make some money back.
