I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I am looking For a harness for my 2004 envoy with Bose for an aftermarket radio. So far I have found PAC os-2c-Bose and os-2bose, or gmos 100/gmos 04. I also want to keep my steering wheel controls and have found PAC swi-pc? Do I have any other cheaper options? I bought a kenwood dnx6160, brand new and never installed, off of CL. I'd there anything else I need? I think I need an antenna adapter too right? And do I need a kit if it came with a faceplate?
Thanks all for your help . Sucks trying to get things done on a budget...

AFAIK the GMOS-04 is the one to get.

After several bad experiences with the GMOS products, I changed gears and went with the Pac OS2 module. It's been pretty good to me ever since. You can find some cheaper than this one on Ebay, if you have some luck with the auctions

I also had a couple of GMOS die on me after disconnecting the battery. Now I have a PAC and it has worked fine but the differences are that the GMOS used the low level RCA input and the PAC uses the speaker outputs. Although I changed HU when I switched, I find that the audio quality is not as good as the GMOS used to be. But it could have been the HU though.

yea i have not heard many good things about the metra gmos products :/ trying to stay away from em but still keeping my options open. What about these other rands like peripheral, or scosche.
Also can i use the gmos-100i? it seems awfully convenient...
and what is the difference between using the SWI-RC vs SWI-JACK vs SWI-X (universal). the first two both work with kenwood, and the last is universal. in general i try to stay away from "universal" products.
Also, difference between GMOS-04 and 014? can i use either?

Oh, and if i get a harness that says for bose, not for onstar, can i use that even though i have onstar but i dont use it or need to keep it?

what kind of harness do i have? 24pin or 29pin? where is this info located lol?
can i get this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA15Y0AJ9464

can i get this? Newegg.com - NEW PAC RP4FD11 RADIO PRO 04 INTERFACE FOR FOR VEHICLES WITH CAN BUS RP4-FD11

I think that`s the same one that another member used and has everything needed. Not sure about the difference between the SWI-RC and SWI-JACK. Could be for different radios or remote types. The Swi-X I do know since I have one. Used it in my Jimmy. It's not plug and play and you need to use the radio's remote to program it and has a transmitting LED that imitates the remote so you have to drill a hole in the center console to point towards the radio. It worked fine at the time with my older Pioneer HU but if anything blocked the LED, it work. You would use this if one of the other two wouldn't work (i.e. doesn't have a remote plug-in).
The GMOS-04 is the I used with my Bose system. The 014 seems to work with Bose and non-Bose but seems to be geared towards the installation of a NAV system that needs speed or parking brake input. Metra Online

If you don't need Onstar, you can use one that doesn't support it. Just the plug for Onstar will be unplugged.

The main purpose of the 014 is to retain the RSE audio. If you don't have the RSE then you don't need it.

Edit: It's the only one I've found that does this.
