It is incredible how far we've gone. I remember Newsgroups and email groups, the predecessors to forums. And now even forums are being threatened by FB.

On a similar note I was watching an old SNL from 1993 and there was a reference to people with cell phones as being nerds.

Yep. I remember my first 'real' PC...then a modem...and getting an account on CompuServe (1 step away from a BBS)
The world was mine, Mine, MINE! LOL

Wound up turning into a nice career for a lot of us 'early adopters'.

I barely had a grasp of Windows for Workgroups 3.11 at work. I really started on a Pentium 200 MMX with a 14" CRT and Windows 95 and dialup 56k modem. I remember getting it all home, setting it all up and then dialed up the web. Checked email, had none. Didn't know what else to do so I shut it all down and watched TV.
