It is amazing how many times we all have to "Fight With The Electrical Gremlins" that can plague all Post 1987 Motor Vehicles and yet often we can "Get Right After Them!" without having had any Basic Training in How Electrical and Electronic Problems Evolve... and more importantly... How to solve these issues. In the absence of these courses being taught in High School and even on College Level Instruction... there may be gaps in our understanding that could do with "...A Little Schoolin' Up" from time to time.

These videos take us back to a time when those earlier GM New Technologies Training instructed the Experienced Mechanics and Technicians; beginning with a very Basic Understanding of Electricity... and preparing them for a Sea Change in what they would be expected to know and understand about these New Technologies. These Four Videos are an example of GM's effort to help their work force progress during this technological paradigm shift and re-training period it required. Regardless of the fact that these films were produced many decades ago... The Principles of Electricity and its Application in Automotive Electronic Circuitry... have NOT changed.

These Older GM Tech-Line Training Videos prove that even Professional Mechanics and Technicians can benefit from understanding the changes the Automotive Industry would endure for over a Quarter Century as the Vehicle Motor Tuning and Management moved away from simple Spark-Plug Changes, Strobe Light Distributor Points Adjustments , Carburettor Adjustments and Tire Rotations as the Basic Dealership "Auto Tune Up" of yore... that has since moved on to becoming Modern Vehicles with very sophisticated Computer Controlled Fuel Injected Engines and Transmissions. It followed on that this would soon involve an unending and at times, a steep upward curve on the "Knowledge Needed" Scale about what makes these vehicles function and almost guarantee that "Home Auto Repairs for "The Average, Private Owners" would soon become and remains to this day... next to impossible.
