Well after all the work done for the ext brake upgrade, sway bar bushings and links, the only upgrade was the links since I now found out i ordered the regular swb brake pads so there is literally no upgrade at all, and that I ordered the 1.46" sway bar bushing when I have the 1.34" sway bar so once again literally no difference. [emoji34]

but it was interesting that I noticed the old sway bar bushing actually was so worn it was actually slightly bigger than the new bushing . You can see the gap
uploadfromtaptalk1432466597672.JPG

Also one of the front sway bar links was missing a washer, but I found out a 3/8" washer fits perfect, the same I used for the rear Tahoe shocks

I thought the pads were the same between LWB and SWB. It's mainly the placement that changes the breaking ability.
Amazon list them the same. But I can see where it grabs and it doesn't grab the whole rotor, and the pad doesn't fill the whole bracket also in the swap thread he used 06 pads which is what I just ordered which should fully grab the rotor.

And in the thread on the swap on trailvoy they talk about the pad difference and that the smaller one fits the bigger bracket

The pads should be coming in Wednesday so I'll really know if it works.and how they feel then

Have to make sure all the parts are separated from the Ford parts or things will stop working [emoji1]

Better question is, why are you storing Ford parts? Is the price of scrap going up? :rotfl:

They wont grab the full rotor with any pads. Year does not matter.

Right, it's the geometrical difference between where it used to grab and where it grabs now with the new brackets and rotors. Before: closer to hub. After: further away.

I saw it explained well once but I don't have those talents lol.

yes you are right, the 06 pads don't fit out the box the ends need to be trimmed down a bit but they are a bit bigger and thicker thought. i wont be installing anytime soon with all this damm rain

either way as for a update to the build when i do install the pads ill be painting the rotors, calipers (rear too) and ill be adjusting the park brakes.

Well i got to grind the pads down today and they fitted good on the pass side, But the driver side caliper didn't want to close even after compressing the pistons all the way. I had a spare so I swapped it in and its all together now. I just need to flush out all the swap water I have for brake fluid lol

Also have to get around to axle seals but I've been thinking of getting a 3.73 rear axle W/g80, I would have to swap front diff too or else I'll be stuck in 2wd but with good tires and g80 I should be good.
uploadfromtaptalk1436031132890.jpeg

I have to extend the exhaust so it will be flush with the bumper, instead of burning it lol

Don't know if i posted this before but this was my fix for the headlight adjuster failing and droping the light output to the floor

uploadfromtaptalk1436032300903.jpeg

I also went on to pull some left over wires and clean up the remote start that was installed by the previous owner

uploadfromtaptalk1436032363857.jpeg

Then I found a GPS, that I removed but then I was getting random starting problems where it wouldn't start it would show lights on the dash but never crank whether I remote started it or used the key.

After looking around the only bypass they have is a relay without a ground that somehow works?? But now it works perfect again... idk?

Yesterday I went on and removed the front bumper to try and fix some of the bumper gap and fix the rattle over bumps
uploadfromtaptalk1436033061963.jpeg
uploadfromtaptalk1436033154482.jpeg

Found out the metal "tab" that goes from the fender to the bracket that holds the pin for the bumper mount was completely out I had to push it back in
uploadfromtaptalk1436033265293.jpeg

Then I fixed the headlight backing panel that was letting the headlight shake over bumps

And after.

I still need to put something under the bumper to lift it under the headlights
You can see it more on the left once that's fixed it would be much better looking

Ok so I am finally updating this,
Since the last post I have: replaced my old remote start with a avital 5103l w/alarm
Replaced the ignition switch
Replaced right rear caliper (it had a stripped bleeder screw)
Replaced right rear brake hose
Replaced right left brake hose washers (couldn't get the hose off)
Painted both rear calipers black
Bleed the whole system about 4 times(damm annoying bubbles)

But with all that done I still have random no starts on the remote and sometimes with the key too, idk why?

Also brakes are still less then ideal, they will stop but they just don't feel firm or good, was looking at testing brake Booster vacuum check valve

Also getting around 10mpg driving nice, and I found out that holding 2nd gear makes this truck move lol 😁, 1st gear 6k rpm makes ricey sounds lmao

Found out I go through about a quart of oil in 2500 miles, and I may have a bad belt tensioner

I feel you on the brakes. My pedal is very soft most of the travel but it stops very well. I have no problem locking the tires too. The envoy is very firm on the other hand. Did you replace the lines up front? I might have missed that but since most of the stopping is done upfront streaching lines there are alot more noticable then out back. Otherwise I would continue with checking what you were going to check.

2500 miles is really really excessive... I did a quart over 10k...

No, I haven't change the front lines yet, I probably will but I have to decide if I'm going to stay with the envoy or not, if I do I need to get the seat track extended since it doesn't go back far enough for my long ass legs lol

I was thinking of going to a shop to see how much ss lines would cost, that should definitely help.

Also yea I know it's alot of oil but w.e, I'll just have to keep an eye on it, I'm not sure where it's burning it off from though, I need to check on cold starts for blue smoke to see if it's the valve guides. It may just be rings with 143k

Ok well i was just searching but I found a pair of front stainless steel brake lines for $75 shipped, so i ordered them and I should be getting them next thursday

Sale ends the 9/30

They are stoptech lines, from autoanything

http://m.autoanything.com/brakes/75A4620A0A0.aspx

I had to put my vehicle a 05 tb on the site since it doesn't show the envoy but they are the same so w.e

Found out that the truck does just slightly under 105mph just fine, also that the brakes are great for slowing down when a pickup cuts in front.

Also averaged 16.5 mpg doing 85-100 (mainly 95-100) for 170 miles

And for reference I reset the dic at 85 with light throttle and 90mph gives just over 2500rpm with lockup so not bad for mpg

I have a couple of things laying around if your interested. My 3yr old kenwood head unit it's in very good shape. Also finally got a head unit I was looking at a while back. It was on back order and they sent it to me months later. It's the pioneer avh1700. I also have a 5 channel pyle blade amp laying around. It's a hybrid amp very compact. uploadfromtaptalk1443182359635.pnguploadfromtaptalk1443182461455.jpguploadfromtaptalk1443182511081.jpg

Sounds good but if the stock Hu works good I'll probably stay with that for a while, but I was thinking of getting a eBay android Hu even thought. Also I have my eye on other things to buy like rear Springs, prothane poly control arm bushings, bilstien shocks and either rear poly bushings or new control arms, and new tires these Chinese stuff suck lol

Yea your right about the tires. I'm still running these milestar p.o.s I bought last November. There crap but they will do for now. Still waiting on a good set of ss wheels to pick up so I can tire shop again. I'm going to color match them in powder coat to my truck color. Black metallic is going to look sick.

Well nothing went in easy but w.e, this is my first time doing anything with speakers too

The rear speaker screw mounts had to be bent in to fit stock location uploadfromtaptalk1443224978270.JPG

I still need to wire the crossovers for the front door tweeters and mount them but here are the woofers as they sit uploadfromtaptalk1443225076476.JPG

Also got this in the mail today uploadfromtaptalk1443225142195.JPG

So where are you mounting your amp? And secondly I didn't see a cap or audio battery in your arsenal of goodies. I'm not sure if your planning on it but if you don't want your head lights and any others to flicker I'm suggesting it. I have a 5 farad but you might get away with a 1 farad for that amp. amp.uploadfromtaptalk1443228737435.jpg

Never even looked at those, it doesn't pull much more than stock amp, total should be 330 vs 275 for the stock lux amp (I know I have the non lux but should be around the same)

Also I'm going to mount in that same spot

Got you. [emoji106] at least make sure you install a fuse block closer to the amp with a fuse rated to that amp. not sure what size fuse came with your kit or the wire size. And it allows for powering other ad ons later. uploadfromtaptalk1443233059699.jpg
