Paid $3.61 gallon this morning then passed another station with a cash price of $3.51. News reports we are using less gas than prior to covid, I don't know but let the fuel prices continue to drop.

$4.20/gal near me; just over the WI border it's $3.74

With discounts, I can get another 0.35 off those prices.

As for using less gas... lots of office workers continue to take advantage of WFH part or most of the workweek. New watchword in hiring ads is 'hybrid' (which just means at-site attendance is somewhere between 0-99%, usually toward the lower end.

As for the people still driving, they're doing less of it, also curbing demand.

Saw the other day that the last time crude was priced similarly as now, gasoline was about $2.85 (?) / gal. So there's room to fall further, although I doubt we'll see 2.xx / gal anytime soon.

The 'deficit reduction' bill that is now set to pass Congress next week also has mandatory provisions for Interior dept to offer drilling leases on addn'l 2MM acres of land, and 60MM offshore acres yearly, or else no permitting allowed by them for wind / solar.

Barring another war or other economic shock, I'd expect gas prices to continue stabilizing over next several months to a year. E.g.; I'd expect $3.xx /gal, vs => $5 /gal

I expect same outside of US... cheaper than now, but not back to pre-war, etc. pricing. Inflationary concerns, especially in the EU, will affect pricing as well.

Regular gas is 1.57 a litre today and I assume diesel has not followed yet as it was 1.85 a few days ago.
Exactly the same here. Got some diesel on a rez near Owen Sound for $1.71/L. Oddly enough, it was $1.79 when I left and now back up to $1.85. Still better than the $2.30's at the beginning of July.

There is talk that parliament will put in an excessive profit tax on petro companies as they are making money hand over fist.

We're sitting at $ 4.13/gal, down from $ 4.23 two weeks ago. Chicago is still kicking $5.35 in some parts, and diesel is holding at $4.99-5.15. During our ride into Southern Indiana, we passed a few stations at $ 3.77-3.80.

Saw $1.56/L last night but has come back up to $1.65. Prices here flutuate all day long, starts high in the morning and gradually drops to about the same price as Costco in the evening. Diesel is steady at $1.75/L. When I filled it up, it cost me less than $200! W00T! With CAA, I get a 3¢/L discount at Shell, get Air Miles there and get a 2% cash back when I use my Costco Mastercard.

It's been around $1.58/L lately and diesel has creeped back up from 1.75 to 1.78/L.

Gas dropped to 1.59 a couple weeks back. Diesel held steady at 1.85. Whats sad is this fuel is drilled and refined in this area and then shipped to Vancouver where they have a plethora of added taxes that we do not have. Yet, the price is the same.

Yeah, diesel is going in the opposite direction here too. Gas tonight dropped to $1.49/L however diesel has gone up again to $1.93/L. Cheaper for me to drive the Caprice and TB than the Sierra. Diesel was always a little more expensive but damn!

Last night on the news it was mentioned that gas prices will be 'pulled' upwards with the price of diesel. The expected amount is something like an extra .30 cents by the long weekend in the GTA.

It's probably the diesel cost of said gasoline transport that is likely dragging up the price. The fuel that moves fuel :frown:

I just can't help but think of when gas was near $0.60/L. Just blows my mind that it's 3x that now and even hit 4x earlier this year.

If you want a good cry, head over to page 13 on this thread.

Gas prices in both the US and Canada are actually artificially low - and have been historically. There are a lot of "costs" through the supply chains that don't get passed on and have to be eaten by the unfortunate. (Like from oil spills and pipeline problems and such). This goes for many other products too though.

$1.94 here... Cheapest gas anywhere according to the news (so who knows)
Of course we do have to deal with a few things others dont. A refinery 3 miles from the State Capitol. 3 hospitals in town and all 3 have an add-on Cancer wing. And we're 1 leaky valve away from a 1 million death explosion but hey my XOM stock is doing really well!!!!!!

Made a mistake there...its actually $2.94 not $1.94. Looking at a local gas app its avail for $2.84 at the buyers clubs ( Sams, Costco)

Most places near the house are at $3.23 gallon. Yesterday I filled up for $3.09/gal. It looked like a Shell station and a Chevron station were battleing it out for customers with a little price war going on . This was even cheaper than the local Sam's club pricing.

Here, gas is hovering around 1.40/L and diesel just dropped to 1.79/L, the day AFTER I filled up the Sierra at 1.82 (after a CAA 3¢ discount)

Gas broke the $3 gallon range last week. First week of December 2022. I paid $2.89 this afternoon then 10 minutes later passed a Chevron at $2.65 credit and $2.55 for cash. It was nearly a dollar more a bit more than a month ago.

Same here. Prices dropping on gas but not so much on diesel. We're at about $1.24/L for regular but diesel is still at $2.09/L. Don't use the Sierra so much nowadays.
