It would help to know what your Goal is... and to consider what if any affect such an adaptation might have upon the PCM-BCM Inputs-Outputs.... or the possibility of having Codes that might follow along since the Gauge Read Outs are driven by variations of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation).

If you are speaking of a GMT360/370 there is no such wire from the cluster. On my 2002 there is only one yellow wire and that goes to the steering wheel buttons and looks to be something related to fuel parameters but not the gauge.

The fuel sending unit is wired to the PCM. The PCM sends a message through the serial data bus to instruct the cluster where to position the fuel gauge. There is no wire to the cluster that drives the fuel gauge.
