I replaced four-wheel drive actuator on 2002 chevy trailblazer, was told it was bad.Did not help, checked the wires to the tccm and actuator, can their be a short between these two pieces in the harness??Thanks!!
Taken to a shop, they said it was a bad actuator. Was put in and nothing changed. It will not go into 4-wheel drive. It has the aw4d switch, turn it on to aw4d,transfer case turns(you can here it click in)nothing at the front diff.Heard the the problem can be the wiring from the tccm to actuator.I have read wires front diff to tccm can touch the fender or rub on themselves, can this happen.
unbolt the actuator and while you're holding it have someone switch the 4wd on and off to see if it moves. That will tell you if you have an electrical problem or the disconnect might be bad.
We have to get our terms correct here. What is on the transfer case is an Encoder Motor, not an actuator. At the front passenger side axle is the Disconnect. On it, there is an actuator. This locks, unlocks the right axle from the differential.
What are the EXACT symptoms? What happens when you move the switch from 2wd to another mode? Lights come on or blink? The more information the better.
Or take it back to the shop since they obviously didn't fix it.
