For those that don't want to pay $70+ for a harness

How do you know if you have the bose hookup

there are a few ways to check... the most easiest is to look at your dash on the top where the little speake vents are... if you see tweeters in there.. chances are you have bose..., nesxt would be to checl your rear passanger cargo panel.. take it off or peel it back.. and there you will see a bose amp if you have bose... and another way is to look inside your glove box where your codes are at... i believe the code is UQA for bose...

so if you have any or all of those then you have bose

Just a tip, if anyone decides to use the PAC adapter, throw some electrical tape over the speaker port that's on the actual adapter. The chime is horrendous. It's too much work for me to justify pulling the dash apart to do it, but every time it chimes I want to break something. :)

the GMOS adapter has a volume knob, I was able to turn it all the way down. Now I can work with the door open and the radio on and not get that annoying ding.

Hey guys my question is, i have on star but it is not have that setup or any of that stuff. the buttons are pretty much useless its more for looks.

now what chimes do I really loose?

The chimes you lose are the ones where the left front speaker goes "bong-bong" for, such as opening the door with the key on. That sound.

icalled around a few places to find prices on the harnesses best buy and future shop are over prices by 50 percent like wtf . they both are selling for 1250 just with out the on star and bose system. and this preformance shop i called has it for 50 stupid stores lol:wootwoot:

I ordered a cheapo harness off of Ebay, cost me around $6 shipped. I only had to run an ignition wire, it came with a little fuse tie in tab, I just tied into a relay I was using for something else. Works great, and no cutting.

Ok so i went off this morning and bought the harness great $61, hres the catch turns out o also needed the antenna adapter and a dash kit.

Did i get jipped? or do i really need that stuff?

i seen a few ppl put a 7' screen in there trucks and it looked as if it fit just fine.:undecided:

That is pretty much standard with every vehicle in existence. The dash kit adds a bezel and mounting tabs to mount to the factory bolt holes, the antenna adapter is because every vehicle manufacturer uses a different style antenna. Always consider these add ons when adding an aftermarket radio. If you order through Crutchfield, or Sonicelectronix they will include the parts, and give a discount for the harness. IT sucks but not every car is the same.

haha alright man thats cool thanks for all the help ill pst some pics on here after i get it done hopefully i can get started on it tommo i slept away my whole day,.

The joy of working nights , well of to work , once again thanks for the help talk to you all soon.

ok fellas, i just got off work and i am looking at this harness and i am confused now it doesn't have the same wiring as other harness if that makes any sense? like am i to shave the plastic off of the corresponding wires and connect them like that or what the heck am i doing this is a whole new ball game for me ive only worked on imports and a monkeys could do those. some help and ideas would be awesome i have the AOEM-GM24 harness :frown:

Yes you have to splice the head units cables to the harnesses. I usually just strip about 3/4 of an inch on the ends, twist, solder and shrink tube them. The head unit and the harness should have a chart or list of what each wire is, just connect them to the corresponding wire.
