If you are trying to sidestep any issues with installing an Old OEM Original Style (suspect) Clogged Up Oil Pick-Up Tube for the GM-GMC 4.2L LL8 Motors... consider getting a Brand New Replacement via eBay. Remember...THIS One uses the Original "Blue" Viton "O" Ring necessary for the ORIGINAL Gerotor Oil Pump :
