Finally found some flaps!

Update: Mudflaps coming off! I'm taking the Mudflaps off. They catch and get hung up on small to medium size rocks when I'm off roading. I bought them mainly to keep from throwing gravel at my travel trailer.

So when I'm towing, I'll put them back on. Definitely didn't think the ground clearance would be a problem. Oh well. Live and learn.

You could make your own Rock Tamer type flaps. I made some for the Sierra when I'm towing our RV. At the height of your Voy, you could use just one truck flap cut in half.

Hey Mooseman. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

It's funny you would mention the rock tamers. I've been thinking something similar. Then I had a brainstorm. I was thinking I would cut the flaps about half way down

Then find a stiff rubber type of flap and cut it to fit inside the front of the mudflap and bolt it to it. It would create a type of flexible hinge.

Stiff enough to stop gravel and rocks, not fold up due to wind, but flexible enough when caught by a trail obstacle to give way.

The other idea I had was to mount the mud flaps with some soft rubber washers to give them some flex.

What do you think?

Without pictures, I'm lost. Those semi truck flaps are stiff enough but can flex depending on how short you make them.

Ya I finally got the proper flaps for my LT trailblazer but i know they will catch on rocks but i dont really fock crawl, mostly just overlanding stuff.

They are easy enough to take off and then put back on for a weekend.

I'm not really doing any rock crawling. Just some sand washes where there are occasionally some small rocks....the size of a basketball or less, and they still catch. I'm going to try using some rubber washers under them to let them "give" a little. If that doesn't help, I'll keep them off and only install when I'm towing my small trailer. Or I might buy a cheap rubber/vinyl type of floormat and cut it up and make my own flaps.
