Anyone ever done a faceplate relocation on their headunit? I'm thinking of putting the HU in my glove box and the faceplate in my visor.

We did it in a friends Honda about 6 years ago. The issue we had was the. Voltage from the contacts was very low and the amount of distance we could desperate the unit was only about 12". Any further and it was either sketchy during operation or did not operate at all. Im sure it will be different from deck to deck, but the distance you are talking is quite a bit.

could go with a marine radio with a remote face. MB Quart and Kenwood make decent ones. Or just go with a blackbox type system with no actual face on the "radio"

They are usually kind of fugly and don't offer bluetooth. I think i decided to just extend my remote IR for now.

I did see the Clarion CMS1 though, it does look promising if only it offered bluetooth.
