This is an early Military Weapons Overview Documentary on three Gatling Gun versions originally conceived as a Civil War Era battlefield weapon in the early 1860s and used throughout the military from 1955 on to the present day. AFAIK… The GAU-8 30MM Cannon used in the later developed “Machine Gun with an Airplane Wrapped around it...” in the Fairchild A-10 Warthog is not covered in this otherwise very complete, informative and entertaining documentary on the fastest mechanically operated and automatic ballistic weapons platform ever conceived by man:

-=Enjoy=-
This is a slightly later version of a larger GAU-12 25MM Gun:
PS… General George Custer had three of these weapons available for deployment at the time of his last and fatal fight at The Battle of The Little Bighorn. But he decided that they were unnecessary artillery baggage that would slow down his illustrious, horseback mounted troops... Imagine how different the outcome of that battle would have been with having those three terrible rotary weapons positioned 120 degrees apart around his location. History though has a way of sticking it’s thumb in the eye of those who’s decisions are based upon their desire for vanity and glory… at the wasteful expenditure of the lives of their men and the cost of material.
