Envoy with ss front bumper

Hey, i remember seeing a candy red envoy with the ss bumper on TV a while ago and wondered if it would work without any modifications.
So i did a quick photoshop and realized the grille slot in the bumper is too narrow and square compared to the envoy grille which is wider and more round
There will also be a pretty big gap between the headlights and ss bumper because the way the envoy's front bumper sits normally with the gap
If anyone has any info on this please feel free to add it because im pretty sure im not the only one who would try this if it actually worked

I wonder if you could cut the top half off an Envoy bumper then the bottom half of an SS bumper and fiber glass the two together? It might take alot of time, money & modification. But if you could pull it off, you could make a master mold and sell it to others to recoop some cost.

You probably could + you keep the envoy body lines and corner lights
If i had the funds and knew the people i would definitely experiment with it but unfortunately i dont and i'd probably have an SS already by the time i do have the funds :rotfl:
But yea it would look a lot better
If someone does manufacture one i would happily pay $3-500 for one if its a direct fit or came with the parts needed to fit

Heres another photoshop with half the voy half the ss bumper

anyway you could make the first rendering bigger? i can see the grille issue but the light gap is hard to see or well for me it is......

i was thinking with the grile issue is trim it to fit and glass the area back up once its at the desired fitment. to me that seems more logical than halfing the two bumpers and glasssing them together. lets glass work and body work imo.

I would jump all over this in a heart beat!!

I would cut along the line under the side marker lights and set it up there. I wonder if the junk yards would have something available? It's worth looking into.

i wish i knew how lol but you can sortof see where the grille sits that there is some overlapping

and envoy bumpers normally sit lower so i figured it be the same with a ss bumper and from the looks of the second and third pics of it fitted in real life.

Try tbssowners.com parts section or post in the wanted section for the bumper. There are plenty selling the ss wheels in the parts section. I want to see this come alive :wootwoot:

Instead of cutting the entire bumper, wouldn't it be easier to reform the SS bumper around the grille like the Envoy bumper?

out of curiosity, I wonder what a 9-7x would look like with the SS bumper

Here you go, not perfect but you get the idea
But you would def had to cut the bumper in half if you wanted to do this
+ maybe a lot of fiberglassing

Since I'm pretty sure the 9-7x Aero will be our 3rd GMT...this mod will be saved in my pictures on the computer lol. Since seeing this post I have been just about obsessed with finding a way to do this, however I may not do it to the Envoy since I have lifting plans and a brush guard will block it and make no sense to have an SS bumper.

Hahahaha a voy, a tb and a 9-7x aero.... Sounds like a really nice driveway you're going to have lol
If i found a cheap ss bumper and had enough funds i'd be alllllll over this right now :rotfl:
Between college, gas, parking, food and the mod bug i've blown around $2000 in half a month + around $500 i owe mastercard for ordering my grille, steering wheel and shifter lmao
Doesnt help that im self employed... By that i mean im jobless :rotfl:
This mod bug is turning out to be not as good as people make it seem :raspberry:

quick question since this is on the topic of ss bumpers on an envoy... was wondering with the rear bumper is it a direct swap? also is the ss rear bumper a two part bumper? thanks for the help.

I forgot where i read it but supposedly it would take a lot of modding to be able to fit the ss rear on the voy + the body lines dont match at all either

Ascender bumper i not smooth, it has a lot of body lines. Envoy Denali bumper is the only one that doesn't have all the ugly body lines.
