It's not real bad..a very slight lurch forward....and I always have my foot on the brake when starting it......but is this normal? It's done it for as long as I've owned it. Thirteen years now....Just never thought much about it before. I've had the transmission serviced a few times and nobody ever mentioned any concerns over it.

Mine has never done that when starting, in park or neutral. :twocents:

Mine was an '04 that we had for 16 years and it never did that to us. And as Blckshw mention neither in neutral or park.

Now that you mention it Chickenhawk....it is more noticeable during the colder months. Thanks for the info.

Mine Envoy has been doing it since I owned it. Dealer said it was normal for this platform.. No issues 130k miles later..

My Saab also does it.

I don't think any of mine have ever done it but can see why it would. As @TJBaker57 explained, it could move a little up until it goes up against the parking pawl. Kinda like if you just push on the truck while still in park.
