Engine,trans specs

    I have a 04 trailblazer lt has bad motor and trans can anyone tell me what yrs enterchange ive had some ppl say 02-09 and some say noting but 04 plz help

    Others will chime in I'm sure but I believe 02-07 will work... there were a few changes in 06 but they'll work with a little work... 08-09 would be real tough to swap from what I understand, due to the change in reluctor on crank...

    Did you have a look in this section's FAQ: Vortec 4.2L I-6 ?

    One thread in there that is very informative:
    '06 4.2 swap into an '05

    For transmissions, I believe '02 to '06 are the same. Something changed in '07 that there is a different shift kit.

    since his is an 04, I think he can go w/ a 4l60e from 99-04 (if pulling from a non-TB, try and get one from a truck, so you get the right tailpiece. 4wd matters too. if the TB has it.)
    Does the TCM addition in 05 affect him at all?

    Trans would have to be from another atlas engine... bellhousing is unique on these...

    And I would imagine the torque converter too.
