I have a 2003 trailblazer that was idling perfectly and started losing power. It backfired and blew honeycomb out of the exhaust and died. Took apart exhaust and cleaned out, put back in and cranks then makes a low sounding thud, cranks low sounding thud, “thud” is just used to describe low sound it doesn’t sound broken. It tries to turnover but just won’t. I’m not the most mechanically inclined and am trying to fix it without breaking the bank at a shop. Code reader showed zero codes and the only thing that didn’t seem right was “timing 6*”. Any help is appreciated.

Changed your title for better responses.

the only thing that didn’t seem right was “timing 6*”

What do you mean by this?

A compression test would be good.

Where did you get your timing from?

Sounds like your truck didn't like honey combs.
