I see the Scangauge II comes pretty highly recommended, and is a lot more convenient than having to connect your computer to the OBDII plug. But I stumbled upon this software that seems pretty popular too. Are there any tradeoffs to choosing either one? I'm not too familiar with what other software is out there, so I don't know if the software is that much more in depth and customizable or what. Pretty big price difference, but I couldn't use the software with my current laptop because its so old and doesn't even shut anymore.

I have an OBDLink SX, ordered from scantool.net. lots of options.

check out the scantool.net site.

I hook it up to a laptop, and it reads error codes and lets you reset Check Engine Light, and look at some readings in real time or store them on a drive. nice plots can be stored and looked at (not while you are driving, eh?)

they have extra cost software which does more detailed diagnostics.

I wanted to command my fan clutch, and it seems like you need the real GM software, which is a couple grand.

Can the Scanguage II be programmed for larger tires? So my mileage/miles can be calculated more accurately?
