Curb view mirror troubleshooting

The other day while washing my truck, my driver's side mirror moved against the ratchet. No big deal, I thought, since when I started it back up, the mirror moved back into the saved position. Except that since then, the curb-view no longer works on the driver's side. The passenger side mirror is still moving when expected, and using the door control I can move my mirror in all four directions.

So what's the deal? The computer can obviously move the driver's mirror around, position detection is still working, and curb view is still enabled. What am I missing here?

Did the drivers side always work? I had a 2004 DeVille that would only drop the passenger mirror when in reverse. Is it possible it's always been that way but you never realized it? I don't have that option on my TrailBlazer so I'm not sure, but I even called my dad who has a 2007 DTS now and asked him to try his. He said just the passenger side drops in his also. Not sure here man but hope that helps.

Oh no, I'm very certain it always worked before. I have a 20-foot trailer that I move around occasionally, and the curb-view has been a lifesaver when trying to back into tight spaces.

Did you try reselecting the curb view setting? I lost my CV for some reason, possibly I bumped mine too.I reselected it and it's working fine now...Mike.

Sorry if you already checked - but make sure that the selector switch for the mirror controls is set to the center. If you have that mirror selected, it won't move because it's expecting you to make an adjustment.

This is interesting :undecided:, but my passenger mirror is the only mirror that responds to curb view...I believe the DIC setting option is either "on passenger" or "off"

Yeah, if you have curbview you can select which mirror responds. I never use it but there are times that I wished there was a quick button to turn it on instead of scrolling through and switching on.

Well I cycled through the DIC controls this morning before leaving, and made sure it was set to both on. Unfortunately still no response from the driver's mirror. I also checked the mirror adjustment joystick, and it was left in the center position.

Now I gotta leave my warm shed and go check the DIC options. I must not have it because if I did I'm sure I would know but I'm going to check anyway...

edit: Nope I don't have it, DIC choices are "passenger" or "off". I'm okay with that tho because if I used a driver side curb view I'd probably get a ticket for parking on the wrong side of the street...

If I could I'd give you my CV,It's more of a bother for me because I don't do much curb parking out here in the sticks and then when I back into my barn the Pass. mirror is looking at ashphalt not the doorway, mostly mine is off

Interesting, I can select which I want.

All three of our 360's have had slightly different dic options and two of them were Rainiers but 3 years apart.

i have an 09, 3lt options, and i dont't even have the curb view option on the mirrors.
per the manual, DIC customization: lock/unlock doors, lock/unlock feedback, headlamp delay, perimiter lights,
easy exit seat, seat recall(i do have adj. pedals which is part of seat adjust),alarm warning and language are the only DIC options listed.
no mention of mirrors.

Unless I'm reading this wrong or misunderstanding how my DIC works it I do not have the Driver's side option but it sounds like you do. I have the same Passenger/Off option listed by others.

I thought the driver's mirror option was dropped the same time/year the DIC lost the instant MPG function somewhere around 05. We have the same year and same engine/option package vehicle so I find it odd that we have different options in the DIC. Sounds like they canned it altogether for later models by fletch's post.

Mine always clicks when it goes from the down position back to the memory position. Hasn't broken yet so I thought it might be normal. I shut it off anyway to keep from hearing the noise though.

After doing some reading and checking my 04, It appears that the Driver Mirror CurbView option was dropped for 05.

They also dropped the FOB trigger of Driver #, which included Seat Recall, Mirror Recall and Radio presets for Driver 1 and Driver 2.

I know this doesn't help the OP much but if I was having the issue, I would select "OFF" on the CurbView for a few drive cycles then re-select Both just to see what happens.

A fuse pull or Battery disconnect may perform a reset if all else fails.

Ok, let me double check our Rainier and the 9-7 if I can remember. The Rainier has a few things the 9-7 didn't get if you can believe that. I'm certain the Rainier let's you choose which you want or both...pretty certain the 9-7 is the same but I don't use it so might be thinking rainier not 9-7.

PROBLEM SOLVED... And you won't believe what I did

So I double-checked things today.. Mirror control in the center position, DIC shows both mirrors enabled for curb view, control joystick does actually move the mirror around. OK, great. So I put the truck in reverse, and see the passenger mirror move into position. I decided to use the joystick and move the driver mirror back down. Then I put it back in drive and confirmed the driver's mirror moved to original position. Great. Now put the truck back in reverse and... holy crap, it moved!

So apparently, for whatever reason, the BCM had forgotten the curb-view position of my mirror, and by setting it again, it now remembers that its supposed to move the driver's mirror. I'm glad it was such a simple thing I'd forgotten to check, but then again, I can't believe I forgot to check such a simple thing...

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions!

FYI, my 05 Envoy is also "Off" or "Passenger" - no option for driver side curbview.

I have had your situation happen on occasion, loss of curbview though not necessarily from accidental bumping the mirror. When it happens, I have found that it's just the curview mirror position is no longer remembered (somehow?).

What I do to correct it is put it in reverse with joystick centered (and see Curbview enabled in DIC), then switch the joystick to the passenger mirror and move it down to the position you like. Return the joystick to center, put it in drive (or park) and let the mirror return to its normal position. In all cases my curbview has worked as expected afterward. I have not ever had to re-save my memorized positions under these circumstances.

EDIT: Ummmm I guess I should have read the whole thread - but your discovery of the exact same solution as mine just verifies I'm not crazy Thanx

I'm not quite sure how you jumped to this conclusion, but I applaud your ability to leap great chasms...
