Ive been searching all morning and the closest I have come is some Corvette Radio place in Louisiana.

Does anybody know where I can get the stock replacement mini- lt. blue bulbs for the Heater / Climate Control unit? I dont want to mess with resistors etc to put in LEDS, I just want to solder in some new bulbs as I have 4 out on my controls.

I could be mistaken.. but from my understanding, they don't sell replacements for those... or any switch, etc... that has those little lights... since its your radio.. you would have to solder anyway to replace the bulbs.. so that's why a majority just upgrade to LED... but I think I've seen threads where people just get bulbs from radio shack...

My dads lights in his Colorado's window switch went out.. and he works for a chevy dealership, and they told him he would need to replace the switch since they don't sell lights individually.. but I took care of that for him  (I'm converted to LED's so its cake for me to do)

Yeah, its not the soldering that bothers me, I just didnt feel like dealing with the resistors. Also, I know if I switch just the climate control lights to L.E.D.'s it will drive me nuts and Ill have to do the entire dash. Which i really could care less about, I just want the lights to work. Thats why Im looking for just replacment bulbs.

Starting to think the ones on this page may be my only option.

Are these not the same little bulbs that illuminate the cluster guage and steering wheel control switches? They just have a little blue slip-on (rubber/plastic) boot? The ebay guy I got my stepper motor replacements from pkg'd 10 bulbs in with the motors - maybe that's an avenue to pursue?

Yeah, I just know if I switch to LED's in the climate control it will drive me nuts until I change over the dash etc. Which I REALLY dont feel like dealing with. I just want to solder in the 4 new bulbs and be done with it so they work.

Looking like these guys may be my only opiton for the blue mini's

I dont know, that would def. make life easier. I didnt check to see if they had a rubber coating on them based on the stamping "Lt Blue" on the housing, I just assumed the bulbs were actually blue. They didnt look like they had a plastic coating on them when I had it apart.

For reference I dug up two places where I'd seen these bulbs being replaced. The cluster guage doesn't seem to have the blue covers, the steering wheel controls do...

EDIT: almost forever and a day I have been spelling "gauge" as guage - and every time I think I finally got it because it looks right, it's not  :bonk: :dunce:

There they are, identical to the ones in the steering wheel how to! The Steering Wheel replacement lists the Bulbs as Part# 25-1370 from Radio Shack, and you just re-use the bulb covers. Damn it, I found those first thing this morning I just didnt know about the "Light Condoms"

THANK YOU!!!

No problemo, glad it helped - FYI, general consensus is just to do them all on any particular part or assembly while you have it out

Be careful pulling the blue condom cover off, they usually rip apart.
It really is easy to do LED's in there, never have to change them again.

Just for reference if anyone searches this topic in the future. The correct part/bulb # is 272-1154 at Radio Shack.

The Blue covers came off without any issue. The biggest difficulty is the original solder they used on the board is tough to work with. I managed to fry the circuit under the "Off" bulb and had to run a jumper up to the driver side bulbs. Other than that, pretty straight forward.
