Changing thermostat, coolant loss?

So my thermostat of 12 years and 202k miles is finally starting to get sloppy on me. I'm ordering a new tstat (and sensor) but I was curious how much coolant I should expect to lose? I have some fresh coolant in a jug but I don't know if it will be enough or not.

Thanks!

How old is the existing coolant? I would be inclined to replace all coolant.
My TB is 11 years old, and I have only changed the coolant once.
Need to get off my butt and pull bottom hose and fill with new Dex Cool.
Question. How long are factory radiator hoses good for?

The coolant is under 2 years old.

I still have the factory hoses on mine and they are still OK.

I don't have a definitive answer on coolant loss. I've changed my t-stat and sensor on several occasions. Each time I pulled the lower hose and drained the coolant. I did find using one of those el cheapo Walmart plastic tubs did a fairly good job of catching most of the coolant. It's about 2 ft dia. and will slip under the front. My coolant was fairly new and I was able to recover/reuse most of it. Probably added less than a pint.

I used a Rubbermaid container for mine. $8 at Family Dollar, it's one of the ones that are wide but low, had good capacity and was also a handy mixing basin for the fresh stuff.
