Hello, I just changed my water pump in my 2012 chevy silverado 4.8L, and went to start it up and it took a second to start so I pulled up codes and it popped up a P0340 and P0341. I went ahead and replaced the CMP sensor and the P0341 code went away but the P0340 code is still there. I pulled up live data on it and it isn’t reading anything with the CMP. Could this be a wire or connector? Before I tear everything apart? Mind you, it did not do this at all before I changed my water pump so I’m kinda thinking some coolant got down in the connector or wire somehow.

Welcome to GMT Nation...

If you've no objection, I took the opportunity of plugging in the specs of your Vehicle into my Snap-On Vantage Pro Diagnostic Tool under the section called "Guided Component Diagnostics" for the CMP because the investigation involves the need for both a Decent DMM... and an Oscilloscope.

These screen prints come from my taking the "Step By Steps" in order that numbers 39 Images (20 Linked below...with the other 19 to follow on...) in total that can guide you through how all of this gets done by Professional Mechanics. If you are interested in the use of an Oscilloscope, the link below will prove to be most instructive:
