good morning guys... its Fern.. i haven't been on any of the sites in a while.. working 2 jobs and having 2 kids... WOW:eek:... life just go so busy:crazy:... coming from doing nothing for a yr and half collecting unemployment:cool: ! anyway...

i have a couple of issues with my wifes truck i want to address before winter hits... i figured i could get all my issues in one thread instead of going thought both sites trying to figure stuff out... i hate to clutter the forum with useless threads... anyway issues at hand (boss aka wife is on my butt about it)

1) even tho its in 2wd it still sounds like front is engaged making a rotating grounding sound... not the brakes checked already. this happened when there was a brief moment when service 4x4 light came on.. then it never did again but then we noticed the noise.

2)rear door weather stripping the one i have (and lack of one) is falling off looks too big for it wont settle in so i need to replace both sides... the other side doesnt have one.

3) service engine soon light popped on.

4) inside rear view mirror i disconnected it from the back since auto dim would always turn on.. i would like to fix this as well since my wife likes the compass and temp readings on it... plus auto dim was a nice feature to have

5) remote to lock and unlock doors/ alarm doesnt work. not batteries.. we replaced... how do i reprogram it? she is tired of having to go around to dr side and unlocking with key then going back around to put babies in...

6) rear wiper arm doesnt work nor i think the wash fluid.

7)front pass side window goes down fine but its up its a pain... we have to sit there and keep clicking the button and it goes up little at a time some clicks others it wont do anything (even from dr side control)

8) both outer side view mirrors are cracked/broken. would like to replace (they're heated/electrical)

i know im a newbie and i am asking questions without descriptions nor much info, we dont have time really to work on the car either i will be busy or she will be and have the car..... major repair i want to do is 4x4... and weather stripping.. since wind and noise get in though there and not good for babies now in winter. thanks in advance... hope you guys can direct me in the right path. i know everyone here is knowledgeable. oh and btw STILL no mods! boss wont let me touch her car! not even a BRUSH GUARD ! -__-:hissyfit:

PLEASE anymore info you guys need or any suggestions you guys have i will follow since im in a lost here and since she would never let me work on her truck i dont know it! thats one of the down falls and i pointed that out to her... i did however change out the shifter cable! it snapped one day in a parking lot and i had to go under and shift it by hand to get it home. what a mission!

Serious stuff. Ever checked level or changed front diff fluid? Get it on a lift and rotate things NOW. A dry diff, dying CV shafts, bad hubs, or a failed front axle disconnect on the passenger side are all possibilities.
2)rear door weather stripping the one i have (and lack of one) is falling off looks too big for it wont settle in so i need to replace both sides... the other side doesnt have one.
Should have glued it back up with 3M weatherstripping adhesive before it disappeared
3) service engine soon light popped on.
You know the drill. What's the code?
4) inside rear view mirror i disconnected it from the back since auto dim would always turn on.. i would like to fix this as well since my wife likes the compass and temp readings on it... plus auto dim was a nice feature to have
Scour Ebay for a replacement.

You only have one remote? Read on.
6) rear wiper arm doesnt work nor i think the wash fluid.
The rear washer is run from circuits in the front of the truck, but the rear wiper motor is related to proper operation of the liftgate module. The LGM also is critical to the remote keyfob operation. You may have a dead module, blown fuse, or broken wires at the top of the liftgate near the hingeline. Been discussed before. Run a search.
7)front pass side window goes down fine but its up its a pain... we have to sit there and keep clicking the button and it goes up little at a time some clicks others it wont do anything (even from dr side control)
Bad regulator motor. Ebay.

Cheap ones on Ebay

Your list is going to take money or time to fix. But you knew that.
either i will be busy or she will be and have the car.....
You need a spare car. And time. Or money.

Sounds like she wants to fix all the problems herself. Cool. Have her join up and we'll talk her through the problems with HER truck.

You need to come to an understanding about roles and responsibilities. Can't help you there.

Roadie gave you good advice on each point, but I'll post this for you (or others later) that want to see the fob reprogram process. This is the same for TB or Envoys, all years seem to be the same that I saw. (From this site - it has instructions for just about everything - Free Keyless Remote Fob Entry programming instructions, procedures for all automotive vehicles). Hopefully this will help you in your troubleshooting process.

1. Close all doors

2. Insert key into ignition

3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver's door panel, continue to hold down
until instructed to release in step 9.

4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in a fairly rapid succession.

5. Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine.)

6. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.

7. Turn the ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine.)

8. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.

9. Release the power UNLOCK button on the door panel. The vehicle should respond by
door locks locking and unlocking automatically. (If locks do not cycle after you let go,
not before you let go of the unlock button, then the vehicle has not entered programming
mode and you must start procedure over. Remove key from ignition, open drivers door
and return to step 1 ). If the locks do cycle automatically then proceed to step 10.

10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote until the doors lock and
unlock. This may take up to 30 seconds.

11. Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional remote. (Including any existing remotes).

12. Turn the ignition to the ON position to exit the programming mode.

13. Test remote(s).
