Blazingtrails Build thread 2nd edition. 2004 EXT LS

We picked up this 2004 Chevy Trailblazer EXT LS saturday, it has the 4.2 and runs great at 324,000 miles!!! The interior is in fantastic shape and it runs great, but the exterior definitely needs some TLC. Being a mechanic I am not concerned about the miles in the least, the body is tight and the suspecnsion is in great shape so I am happy with it.


Within one hour we replaced the driver side mirror, front bumper, removed hood deflector, changed the oil, and got all the sticker and crap off of the windows.

Today we changed the back bumper, removed all of the pinstripes, removed all the double sided tape from the broken vent visors on the driver side, and shaved all of the badges from the lift gate.

imediate plans include replacing the missing 17" wheel already ordered from ebay for $100 shipped, replace the missing vent visors, getting already white fenders and driver front door, shave side moldings, shave roof rack, and paint the mismatched spoiler over the back window.

future plans at this point are painting the bowties, brake calipers, and LEDS in the interior. I already have the bulbs from my bulk buys so it will happen when I have time.

That's awesome! And omg 324k miles.. lol.
What's that white thing by the center console? A little push button light? Because I found one similar to that under the drivers seat in ours..just thought that was weird lol.

Is this one gonna get all of the performance mods your other TB has?

That white thing is an air freshener there are a few in there and will be removed soon im sure. This is going to be a daily driver for the (soon to be) wife so it is not going to see a lot of mods performance wise. It will however get a tune next weekend, just going to disable all of torque management and stiffen up the tranny a bit. Other than that probably nothing.

Im still going to have to go through the engine and change the plugs, I know it need a ECT sensor and that's really about it for now. we will just play it by ear as it runs good and has no CELS. It already has a new alternator and serpentine belt and battery.

Oh okay. And yeah, good deal for sure. I think ours was $6800 (IIRC) from the wholesaler we got it from with under 100k miles on it two years ago. It was the cheapest EXT with the lowest miles around here.

Edit: forgot EXT's are not 360's, they are 370's. Should've known better.

It did but the bumper was all jacked up so we put my old one on there. She said she didn't really care about the fog lights so we swapped it out. I will keep my eyes peeled for another LT front bumper, or I may try to use the molded "brackets" from the old bumper and fit them onto the LS bumper. who knows. hell i may just get some aftermarket fogs and wire them factory?

Time will tell.....

Gotcha.. Was just curious how they were wired.. When I first got my 03 before modding it, when I would hit the fog switch the low beams and park lamps would come on with fogs.. You couldn't have just fogs n parks. Once I did the drl killer though my fogs would come on with only parks no low beams.. Just didn't know if it was a lwb thing or just maybe an 02/03 thing.

Small Update: removed the trim from the doors last night. looks great! Now I just need to find a drivers front door and fender in white, and the body is almost mint.

Installed a flow-master 40 series muffler in her this past weekend, sounds good and seems to have a tiny bit more mid range power.

Most importantly GOT RID OF THE ANNOYING RATTLING PIECE OF JUNK of an old muffer

Also did the interior lights. not finished yet and as always the camera makes it look like the color and brightness is a jacked up. It looks good in person.
