Does anyone have any first hand experience on how to remove this switch on the floor console?

I read the Alldata removal instructions that say to press down and turn right but I can't get the damned thing to budge. I put all my weight on it and almost cracked the floor console.

Most likely it will have to be unclipped from the back, pull up the top of the console and take a look.

You can pull the top piece off? Isn't it screwed to the floor console base from underneath? I also would like to avoid removing the floor console if possible.

Edit: Bwah! Reading the instructions again it says to press down and to the right. Not turn right. I might want to try that first.

haha, damn dyslexia haha... It was just a little guess input. Every other center console I have taken apart on a GM the top comes off then the mounts are on the inside for the sides and back of the console, then you just lift the back and pull it back from the dash and viola you have a outside console.

EDIT : Yea, the top does come off... I checked... Cup holders in the front have screws and the other ones are under the lid where the latch is, gearshift handle off and pull her out... Just like every other 1..

You shouldn't have to take any screws out or remove anything else. I didn't push down and turn it to the right but I did take a small flathead and gently pried up. It popped right out. It's just held in by some small plastic tabs.
