Both my front grill bowtie and my liftgate bowtie are looking pretty rough. Are these things that I can replace reasonably? Reasonably meaning, I don't want to replace the whole grill. Its an LT and all the parts are 17 years old, its going to be almost impossible to find a replacement grill and its going to cost a fortune. But can I pop out just the bowties and replace them with brand new ones?

The front should pop out. I replaced mine with a powder coated one.

I believe the rears are glued/double sided taped on and can be removed with a bit of persuasion. Not 100% sure because I had an 02 and there was no bow tie on the rear.

The rear doesn't seem to come separately. The new one doesn't even show a bowtie on it.

Found these black on fleaBay:

I would do the same to the rear. Paint over or carbon fibre applique.

The rear emblem will come off for sure with some heat and dental floss. It is only taped on. The front emblem can be removed by removing the grill (emblem has 2 fasteners holding it in place). Aftermarket black front grills can be had for around $65 on eBay also. Front emblems are tough to find.

Yikes
Seems to still be available but at a steep price of $67USD:
I read your reply thinking, "no worries, I'll just hop on ebay or amazon with the part number and grab a cheap one". Holy shit, they're way MORE expensive on ebay and amazon. Oh well, guess i'll just save my money and keep waiting for toyota to release a manual 4runner :D

Good evening.
I used to look into replacing rear wiper arms and saw several cars with chrome bow ties.
It's not made of billet aluminum like AMI, so I looked into it.
Probably, but it was a modified GM genuine product.

The rear bowtie has two layers.
Maybe, but when I take off the soft gold bowtie, there's a chrome bowtie underneath.

It is also possible to color wrap the bowtie that has been peeled off.
There are no holes for screws, etc., so you can enjoy it just by polishing it.

I believe this, but I've never done it so I'm not sure.
