I have some kind of weird feedback/inteference noise coming from my ONstar speaker. Its the one on the side next to the drivers head. I have a IPOD adapter installed, but never had this problem before. I unplugged the adapter and it had no change. I also noticed that if you turn the key in the "ON" position to just put the radio on and let it turn off on its own you still hear noise coming from that speaker and whatever box is under the back drivers side seat. It will just be on slightly longer after the radio turns itself off. Any ideas guys as to what I can do cause its driving my crazy if I want to drive with the radio off. It would almost remind you of a bad ground of some sort. I'm really close to just cutting the speaker out. I don't use or ever tend to you the onstar. The car is still under my extended warranty, but I'm not sure if this is covered? I guess it would since its bumper to bumper, but what do you guys think? Thanks

Hate to tell you his but... that's not a speaker. It's the interior temperature sensor for the HVAC. Mine does the same. Seems to come on as soon as a door is opened or it will stay on a while after the ignition is turned off. It has a small motor/fan to suck in air. If the noise is that noticeable, it might be toast.

You can yank the trim plastic off and lube the squirrel cage fan with some silicone spray to try to quiet it down. Or you might find a mosquito caught in the unit. Or an ant. It has the capability of being silent. Lots of folks think it's the OnStar mike, but the grill sure is an excellent disguise for it being a temp sensor.

Man you guys are great. I would have NEVER thought of something like that. Is it difficult to replace or what would the cost be? Thinking I might just take it in and try to get it under warranty? If not what is the cost. Thanks guys

It's going to be a GM-only part. Or a Delco distributor. But I predict you won't want to spend $50+ for one.

From our friends at parts.nalleygmc.com: GM 15188388, AC Delco 15-50103
$40-80 on Amazon and Ebay.
