Hi All,

Just replaced the battery on the '09 Saab 9-7x. Get a no-start when attempting to crank the engine. For some reason the low beam lights are on, along with the parking lights and fog lights.

Can some one please walk me through the procedure for resetting the theft-deterrent system?

Thanks for any help.

Tried using the following procedure:

"Try to start the vehicle by turning the key to the START position. Allow the key to fall back into the ON position. DO NOT TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION.
Observe the SECURITY telltale on the dashboard or driver information center. After approximately 15 minutes it should turn off for the first time.
Turn OFF the ignition and wait for ten seconds.

There is no security telltale on, only the CEL.

Thanks for any help.

That is the PCM security relearn. It was worth a shot.

Any codes? Because you changed the battery, check all the fuses. Not just visually but with a meter.

With all those lights dimly lit, I'm thinking a grounding issue. Recheck your battery connections as well as the grounding points.

Thanks for the response.

Its a long story, but there was nothing wrong with the existing battery and no problems with the vehicle, at least until now.
