Regular paper filter element is fine. Any brand really, even Fram. Get whatever is on sale. I've used Fram, Purolator, Bosch (on sale).

For as crappy as a rep that Fram has with their oil filters, their air filters are considered pretty good. This is for underhood only; they're prolly midpack on cabin air.

I run a Fram on my Envoy, bought one for the Sierra, and have run them in my DD Hondas. Just the regular no-frills version.

As an aside, I was surprised to see the 6.0L pickup using a traditional flat panel filter, while my Voy uses a canister. Would think that would be the inverse, tbh.

I get mine from rockauto, but high quality vs low quality how much could it really matter for an air filter? I don't think that much.

Just a word of warning on the oil impregnated filters is to not over-oil them as they can contaminate the MAF.
