Hey Guys... So, I finally switched my Aiwa cdc-x504mp from basic wiring harness to the Gmos-01 and now it stays powered all the time. I wired it as the instructions stated, everything works on the radio but still no chimes (didn't try On*). I have unplugged the battery for awhile and no dice. The radio turns right on when I reconnect the battery.

I think that covers everything.

Thanks for any incite!

Double check the wiring on the harness. Sounds like there is either a short or something is wired wrong.

Well, I completely rewired the harness' and did find a mistake I made with the Remote Amp turn on wire(taping it off, not connecting it) but it didn't make any difference.

Sounds like a problem with the GMOS itself.

The GMOS receives inputs from the vehicle and uses those inputs to turn on/off the radio and chimes. Since you already tried to reset it, swapping in another one would be the next step.

I've had two GMOS fail the same way except that I would get no sound. Both times happened after the battery was disconnected. I'm now on a PAC unit. Only thing I don't like is that it uses the speaker out instead of line out (RCA's) on the GMOS, which I found didn't sound as good.

I've read many reviews on the metra or axxess gmos-01/ Gmos-04 harnesses, and yea seems to be hit and miss with the quality you get. Best thing to do is switch over to PAC harness as they seem to be more reliable judging from reviews!! I am currently waiting on a gmos-04 I ordered for my envoy and going to install my pioneer avic d3 in there hoping I get a good harness !!! I purchased the gmos-04 before I read further into the reviews and what have you.. End result these harnesses are way overpriced for the quality IMO!! Best of luck in your fix though bud
