Actuator? Control Panel? Something Else?

Okay, so I disconnected my battery to deal with other issues. My A/C was on (it's July in Florida) and running fine before I did this.

When I reconnected the battery, my front A/C started blowing heat through all vents. (The rear A/C is still blowing cold, so I know the compressor didn't die.) The compressor and recirc buttons on the A/C control panel no longer light, or have any effect on the air (but the panel does light and the fan switch does work, so I know the panel didn't die.)

I am still getting heated air blowing through even with all the dash vents turned off. Does anyone have any idea what happened, and if so, is there a DIY solution? Thanks in advance. Like I said, it's July in Florida.:explode:

:-( I think you are likely going to have a problem getting back to "normal". When you "reset" things, the system "pushes" the actuators to the "max" as part of the "relearn" of positions. On old actuators, this stresses the gearing and can result in issues there after. Of course, actuators can be replaced, that unto itself is no big deal... BUT its the "getting at" that may be very difficult and extremely time consuming / intensive.

2003 Trailblazer. Problem driver side = No AC. When you look up under the driver's side there at 3 actuators, one close to driver right foot, one centre and one towards the seats. As I understand the one centre is Driver side temp actuator, that is moving when I do the reset (all 3 are moving)The passenger side is ice cold, I've also changed the sensor in the duct near the driver's feet.
If passenger side is ice cold, should mean I have enough refridgerant, actuators are moving, what else could it be that I can look at before taking it to a shop?

Thanks.
EDIT....
After looking a Roadie's diagrams....the one by the passenger feet would be the driver's temp actuator, correct?

Whew! Statistics were against it working, but I've read some stubborn folks trying the reset up to five times before it "takes". I *love* saving people time and money.

I do still have one question, though. Why did the lights go out on the dash control panel?

I don't recall you saying if you had the digital or the manual control module, but if the digital one loses its higher brain functions, it can also lose control over some of its lights. Same thing can happen to the DDM, which uses data messages to accomplish local dimming of its lamps instead of connecting (using another wire GM was too frugal to install) to the dimmable lamp bus.

Not sure about the manual one because I don't have one and the schematics aren't clear.
