ABS and tires

I have chased a lot of threads and have not seen a conclusive answer. I want to install used tires (great shape) 245/70/r17 on my 2002 LTZ Trailblazer. Sticker says 245/65/r17.I know they will fit and the speedo will be off. The sites I have visited say anything over 3 % increase in diameter is a problem and this is about 3.3 %. Any experience out there?

It's not really a "problem" Just that your speedo will be off, as you already know. Unless you're OCD about the needle being exactly where it's supposed to be, there's nothing to be concerned about size wise.

My concern is with increased stopping distance or less effective ABS.I am not worried about the speedo.

I'm running ~10% taller diameter tires on my TB and everything is fine, ABS works fine (triggered it a few times last few winters!), stopping distance is fine, etc. 3% is nothing.

Like Sparky said what you are wanting to do is nothing. I went from 245/70R16 to 265/70R16 Yes there are minors changes other than the Speedometer but nothing to bad.

I have 35 inch tires and the ABS works well.
