I just bought the SuspensionMAXX mini-lift kit (1" spacers only, front and rear) and the AirLift 1000 coil spring interior bladders. I haven't installed the front spacers yet, but with the air bags at 30 PSI and SuspensionMAXX spacers in the back, I got 2" of rear lift.

And at less than $200 for the spacers and $100 for the AirLift bags, it's a lot less money than the $1000 custommotorsports.com 3" lift kit.

I recently purchased a 2003 TB LT... Couldn't be happier because this is the first time I got what I wanted in a truck, instead of just what I could afford!! I'm sure after I get like 3 more jobs, I'll be able to afford to add some toys and upgrade some stuff...

hmm....I have an 04 SWB I6. I drive fairly conservatively. I am getting 19.2 in the city, and got 23.2 on an 1100 mile road trip.

From personal experience; If you put the Tornado in
after the MAF, pin it or screw it in place. Mine got sucked into the throttle
body. No damage but the tb plate was held open. The engine died because the tb
was held wide open and my foot was off the gas pedal. ( I was getting on the
highway WOT. ) This told me two things; 1) If the Tornado was moved 4" to the
throttle body by the air, it must be causing a restriction and 2) I was out
$70.

In my defense, I bought it for a previous vehicle. :dunce:

You can't just into a store and buy them. They are specific to our trucks.

Wow, I was just going to start a thread like this.....I joined 8 months before my first post. Had it not been for my first mod, and my biggest noob mechanical issue soon thereafter, I may not have ever known that place.

First off, I would like to thank the countless number of individuals that posted exhaust questions without having the common sense to scroll thorugh past inquiries. It made it much easier to fing my own answer. Having said that, I have successfully upgraded the exhaust on my 02 ls. I kept the resonator, because with the 4'' tip I chose, it just looks better to me. I cut out the stock muffler, which was a bitch with the ill charged sawzall, and replaced it with a dynomax thrush series and 2.5'' piping throughout. It is clmaped on for now, but my local shop is gonna weld it when I have time to drop it off for next to nothing. It was easy, looks awesome, and sounds about as good as you can expect a six cylinder to sound. I will post pics as soon as I get some up on my computer.

Oznium is a fantastic place to get your cathodes/leds from. FANTASTIC customer service and quick shipping. I have a kit from them in my focus right now. Debating on weather or not to take them out before I trade it in for a TrailBlazer on Monday

EDIT: My reading comprehension needs work.

As far as I have read here, Z71 front struts do not fit our rigs. Try www.shockwarehouse.com for some Bilstein HD struts for our rigs.

"Im not sure if anyone ever looks at this post anymore, but anyways, i was wanting to black out my trailblazer, and i was reading this, i went to my local body shop to see if they could paint my grille for me, and he said that the paint they use will not stick to the chrome, he said to go buy "krylon" spray paint, which is for plastic, and paint it with that. he said it is the best paint to use, and will last Along time."

Me007gold actually posted a reply to my first post! :wootwoot:\

What to look for in a TB (what years)
Great info on this site, been reading for a while. I'm planning on buying a Trailblazer this summer as a 2nd vehicle. Currently I drive a 98 Camaro and let me tell you it just doesn't cut it in the winter! That, and it sucks for carrying people or stuff

So far, I have gathered this info:

1) Gauge stepper motors and possibly needing to replace them
2) Want the G80 code for the limited slip differential (seriously though, who makes a "4x4" without limited slip differentials? Seems rather dumb IMO but whatever)
3) Old version of the rear wiper arm sucks!
4) Don't overuse the A4WD mode - a little harsh in engaging by default and may cause excess wear if overused/abused
5) Found how to disable the DRLs (good as I have projectors+HIDs in my Camaro and am spoiled)
6) A "supercharger" noise is usually a bad idler pulley

Now some info I've been looking for and haven't found yet is are there any particular quirks or things to stay away from in certain model years? Like is 2002 a year to avoid being the first year or does it not really matter?

If I somehow missed this stuff in my searches, I'm sorry. I did try though, I got all the other info

.......
I still ended up with a 2002 and no G80, haven't had any stepper motor problems, and my old version rear wiper arm seems to be just fine as long as I keep the hinge on it lubricated. BUT I haven't regretted my 2002 purchase, and the lack of G80 hasn't been a big deal yet. Heck I tried to finally get the G80 when I replaced the rear axle but the junk yard sold me a non-G80 instead :hissyfit: Oh well.

Greetings and Happy new year to everyone. I purchased a new '06 TBSS about 2 months ago and boy is it sweet. The sound, the power, the sound, the nav. system, the sound, the ride, and did I mention the sound? So far the only mods are a 6" antenna. I plan on more in the spring. Thanks for the place to let it all hang out.

"Ok, I admit that when I say the I6 is good for towing my 3900lbs boat, I only mean it for an NON-EXT version. I think the EXT needs the V8 for any power, but the NON-EXT versions tow fine with the I6. Kind of wish the V8 was an option, though."

Geez, 6.5 years over there. Long time.

New MN Envoy Owner

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I just wanted to finally create my first post and introduce myself.

I am a new Envoy owner. My wife and I traded in my 02 GP GTP (which I will miss) for a 2005 Envoy XL SLT with 19K miles on 12/31/07. Got a great deal because it was New Years Eve and the sales person wanted a final year end sale.

I miss the GTP for the power and HUD but I love everything else about the Envoy. I was sorta glad to see the GTP go. I played hard in it (boosted to 12 PSI). You know what people say though, you play you pay. So I was glad to get rid of the problems.

My wife and I were looking at a new Acadia, but then we didn't want a $600 car payment and so we started looking and the Envoy XL fits our needs perfectly. The 4X4 is great for MN winters and Hunting.

I am going to leave the Envoy mostly stock (I learned my lesson). What I have done so far is Silverstars in low and high and a K&N replacement filter. I ran both Silverstars and K&N in my GTP and had great performance in the GTP from them.

As I have questions I will post in the appropriate forums.
--------------------------

I must have learned my lesson because the VoyXL is still mostly stock. With the exception of my bluefusion bluetooth.

I know this is an older post...but am looking to install cross bars on my 06' Buick Rainier. I have the same chrome stock rack as pictured above. Does anyone know where to buy them from? Are they relatively inexpensive? I want to use them for a ski rack. Thanks in advance.

Living in Denver at the time, I needed to haul ski's up and down the mountains each weekend. Boy, I'm missing my season Epic ski pass! All the fun days on Vail's back bowls.

'05 TB EXT bouncy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anybody else notice a rear bounce in their TB? I notice, especially with a trailer (boat or snowmobile ~2,000 lbs total). If I jump on the back bumper the truck bounces up and down a few times before settling. 3rd row passengers report a wallowing type motion. To me that sounds like weak shocks but my dealer says they tested against some others on the lot and that is how they are. Is that the nature of the beast? Any easy fixes? Should I go back and push the dealer harder?

Never did get the recommended Biltstiens. Just learned to live with it. Guess it's hard to pry open an accountant's wallet!
