Hey everyone,

I'm getting parts together to do an upgrade and shift kit on my 96 k1500 Z71 and have a couple questions. First, does anyone know what size pin the 1-2 and the 3-4 accumulator pistons need to be? Are they .235 or .308? I believe the 1-2 is .235 and the 3-4 is .308, but would like confirmation before I start the project.

Also, what is the benefit to using the next heavier spring in the pistons versus the factory type replacement?

Any advice or input would GREATLY be appreciated! Thanks!

I decided since they were so inexpensive to order both as the 3-4 only has one size (.308) and dive into my upgrade. The 1-2 is the .235 (or .236) if anyone is curious.

I believe the heavier springs firm up the shifts. I just followed the instructions even though some of the changes looked very odd. It worked beautifully. What an improvement!

Did you get a new separator plate and gaskets? If not, consider it since you'll have the valve body off anyway. Most 4l60e separator plates have a lot of damage (mine did not!) from getting pounded by the check balls. And the Trans-go plate is drilled different than the factory plate to improve shifting.
