:offtopic: Transmission failed  at 3.01 years and 46K miles... that was fun.
been fine since then until I couldn't shift out of gear yesterday at my kids school.
found the issue was the shift lever grommet had failed, got the cable back on temporarily so I could change to drive and limp home.
Can I buy a new shift arm grommet, or do I need to by the whole shift mechanism or cable?

I've read about a ball attachment, but I didn't see it at the site of failure, it could have broken off prior to my parking the vehicle.
(actually found a video later, see below)

Is this what I'm looking for and what years would be an acceptable replacement.

my temporary fix in the meantime, local transmission shop wanted $100 to do this for me, and that was his permanent solution.
locked the first nut to the lever, then locked the 2 outside nuts to themselves to allow the cable room to breath.

and wouldn't ya know it, ATF is just around the corner from work (Davie, FL) so I dont have to pay for shipping.

Lucky for you as they rape the customer with shipping charges. Also, they ask for email feedback to post publicly. Normally I do not mind leaving feedback but not with my God given name supplied via mastercard. Only with an alias.

It is a good product and very simple to install. Just get that piece ground off. For a cheaper temporary solution you can buy just the bushing off Ebay.

Received the pin from atf, yesterday, put it in today, bastards charged me $11 to ship a yellow envelope via ups three ours away. I had aindash dvd with a 7" player shipped from china for free.. I doubt it they expend more than a $1 on the packaging. 1"x2" zip bag with a small yellow envelope you can buy at the $store.
BTW this is probably the one you were looking for:

They charged me the $11 or so to ship and the envelope has $5.34 at the top. They could have used a USPS flat rate for even cheaper.

I stopped in and picked up the part. They gave me 2. One a little longer than the other. Only one eclip though. It worked like a charm. 11 bux for shipping seems steep though

Mine came with two as well. I ended up losing my eclip so I had to go to HF to get a box of them. When I first saw this thread (earlier today) I was going to offer to send you my other one but saw from your note you were going to pick one up and not have to wait.
Seems like this one I have doesn't fit quite as well but I think it will still work.
I think I'll put it and 2 eclips in a zip lock and throw it in the glove box in case I have another issue.

I dont remember the size sorry. I just found one in the garage that fit the linkage where the pin was before it was ground it out. then made sure it was long enough to handle all the nuts and washers.
