I need to replace the SWPS on my 2008 TB 4WD. Which is the correct part number?
ACDELCO 19150081 GM Original Equipment or
ACDELCO 26104070 GM Original Equipment 4WD; Steering Col(NP7)

I have 4WD but have seen both part numbers mentioned in other posts. Not sure what the Steering Col (NP7) means??

Thanks

I've never had to replace my SWPS (the one in my Avalanche is shot, so thats a task I'm undertaking once its warm out), let alone really see one go bad on these trucks. Is there an issue your experiencing with yours?

The 26104070 is the one you'll want, it looks like it superseded the first from the looks of it. The "col" is just an abbreviation for column.

The brushes/traces inside the steering wheel position sensor tend to wear out over time. I had to replace mine shortly after I purchased it about five years ago. Lately every once in awhile it throws me a code. it's a 20-minute job to install not very difficult just need to cram yourself into the pedal area. just be sure you secure your steering wheel so it doesn't rotate after you disconnect the shaft.

Does anyone know what the difference is between 26104070 and 19150081 and what one I might need? There is about a $20 difference between the two.

I have a 08 TB 4WD 4.2. I looked at the build codes on the placard in the glove compartment, I do not see that I have a "NP7" code although I do have a "NP8". The Ac Delco website and Rock Auto both list NP7 next to part number 26104070.
