2006 TB wheel nut torque 100 or 103?

Ok...the owners manual for my TrailBlazer says 100 ft lbs, the Haynes manual says 103. I've learned over the years to double check Haynes and company, but I have heard 103 from other TB owners.

Wonder which one is right...and does 3 ft lbs make a difference as long as all six studs are evenly torqued?

I believe they chose 103 so that you do a double take at the specs and look closer at the torque wrench and see that it's at 103. Which is over 100. 100 is actually the torque GM has lately used. but that's my opinion. I really don't think 3 ft/lb is gonna be critical unless GM starts having us wrapping safety wire through the bolts like manufacturers do for aircraft. lol

3ft-lbs is likely less than the accuracy of the torque wrench you're using.:undecided: A quick google shows many of the click-type wrenches are +/-4% and even electronic ones are only +2/-3%.

Point being: don't sweat it.

My torque wrench has been set to 95 for a long time and never had issues.

I've been using 103 ft-lbs but I wouldn't worry about that difference much either. I have an '03, though...

You don't actually store it set to anything but zero, do you?

My '03 Envoy manual calls for 100 ft. lbs.

I don't think that 3 ft lb is going to make much of a difference for lug nuts. As long as the torque is consistent on all the lugs.

I've always done 105 because that's what my previous car had called for so it was out of habit
