There's no way I can forget.. Though I was only in middle school when it happened, it was my motivation for enlisting in the Marines in 2008. I wanted to get over there a put the fear of god in every single last insurgent we came in contact with..

Thank you for posting this. People need to remember this day forever.

I still remember sitting in school when it happened. I still have the news papers from those few days. I should take a pic of them later if i can dig them out.

I knew some at the Trade Center just below who made it out and some who amazingly were late into work. This morning all the kids wrote rememberances all over their arms before school.

God bless all those that have made the supreme sacrifice in defense of our country following such a tremendous tragedy.

9/11 was a major turning point in my life. I had been divorced for about a year and was still in a pretty bad place. I had recently joined the guard, having already had a couple years on active duty (got out to try and please the wife). Within an hour of the third plane going into the Pentagon I was on the phone and volunteering for the next available deployment. I have no idea where I would be had that tragedy not happened, it was certainly life changing for me.

Can't believe it was 11 yrs ago. I was in 6th grade when it happened.

"Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11."

Exactly 42 days after September 11, I was at Rhino... 9mm on my side, and GAU in my hands.. Khukuri on my side.. and the closest people I will ever be as close to for the rest of my life occupying the spaces around me. Unbloused, quarter sleeve rolls, Independent Skateboard Trucks ballcap, and orders for a brief with a Naval Master Chief, and USAF Full-bird.
I came back, left, and came back 4 times on active duty, still going to and fro as a contractor to this day.

The truest heroes in my opinion, never made it home all the way with everything intact, or never made it home at all. We all left a piece of ourselves there, in that country.. in those mountains.. on that ridge.

Love and thanks to PO1C Neil Roberts.. SrA Cunningham, and TSgt Chapman.. March 4th 2002, on Roberts Ridge.. love ya brothers.. and the same to everyone that chewed pieces of that foreign soil for so long.. and still are.
