09 9-7x AWD Issues

Hello I am new to this forum stuff I have a 09 97x i4.2 that is kicking my butt. i was reading about the removing of the awd fuse. I just had 2 front cv axel shafts replaced and now the there is a hard pop/ clunk sound when I turn right or left and i changed transfer case fluid ac delco blue stuff. I am not sure if I should change encoder motor or just disable awd.

Before replacing the encoder motor, try removing it. If it is seized, this will return the transfer case to 2wd mode. The light will be on but that's OK. If it's still making noise, then it's possibly something in the front diff, intermediate shaft or disconnect.
