I have a 2007 Envoy and all of the sudden my windshield washer sprayers don't work. The back sprayer worked for a little while after the front stopped but now the back doesn't work. Has anybody had this problem? I don't think the pump is working as it doesn't make any noise. Any help is appreciated. Sorry for grammar posting from mobile.

I would assume both the front and rear pumps don't make noise? You can try to manually apply power to the pump and see if it makes the pump engage to rule out something like a wiring problem. More than likely, both your pumps died and need to be replaced. Fairly simple to do in all honesty though.

The front and rear pumps are entirely separate electrically except for their ground so chances are debris in the tank has clogged and/or jammed your pumps. I would pull them out (have something to plug the holes if you still have fluid in the tank) and see if you can see anything in the inlets. The inlets are tiny and it doesn't take much to jam them.

Alternatively, you can remove the air cleaner and pull the whole tank out (it's not bad). You'll have to do this anyway to properly clean out the tank if you do find contamination.

While you have the pumps out of the tank (but plugged in) have someone activate the washer briefly and see if they run or you hear/feel them hum (meaning they're getting power, just jammed). If not check their fuses. If all this checks out, only then would I replace them.

That's what happend to my front washer pump. I pulled it out and tapped on it and it started working. Wasn't bad to pull out either.

Does the tank have to be removed? I thought the pumps could be R/R without removing the tank.

Thanks for all the help. Found the two pumps in a 04 Envoy at the junkyard. Both of my pumps were bad. Replaced in under ten minutes.
