It's been discussed, and I think it's fine. Use the 06 PCM. 02-05 trucks can accept 02-06 engines. 07-09 have to use their harnesses and PCMs. We have a member who's researched this extensively - let's hope he chimes in. Eric?

What limequat said, use your existing 06 PCM, wiring harness, etc and swap fuel rails so you can use the 06+ style fuel system. However, you will be going backwards in time and getting an engine with ~10-15 less hp/tq than the 06.

Now if you were going to put an 06 into an 04, use the 04 PCM, harness, and swap the fuel rails for the 04 ones. This is an upgrade and will give you the extra hp/tq from the redesigned engine.

I spaced, you're correct. I cant edit my previous post though.

I want to pick up an 06-07 engine for my 02 and build it when I can. A few extra hp/tq never hurt, plus it would end up with some cams and maybe a blower...:cool:
